Pill Pockets for Dogs

I got tired of buying pill pockets and figured there would be a good homemade recipe out there. I found a few, and Karebear loves them!

1/4 cup water

1/4 cup Natural Jif creamy peanut butter

1/4 cup oatmeal

Blend oatmeal into a fine powder in your food processor, blender or smoothie maker. I often make more oat flour than I need and store the rest for next time. Add hot water to the oat flour and let it sit for a bit - like you do with oatmeal. Add peanut butter and mix. I've had the best luck using my (gloved) hands to mix it. You should be able to pick it up and mix it together like dough. Store in the refrigerator. I get about a tablespoon's worth and wrap Kara's pills in it each morning and evening.

Peanut butter can be dangerous for dogs, so I did some research and saw that of the store-bought peanut butters, Jif Natural is good because it has less salt and no weird sugars that are deadly for dogs. Do the research that works for you. If you use milk, the pill pockets will be good until the milk's expiration date.
