Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

1/2 cup butter

1 cup sugar

2 eggs

3 mashed bananas

3 tbsp sour milk (regular milk with 1 tsp lemon juice) or 3 tbsp sour cream

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp baking powder

pinch of salt

2 cups flour

6 oz chocolate chips

6 oz nuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 350˚. Mix together softened butter and sugar. Add eggs and beat. Add bananas and sour milk, mix. Stir in baking soda and powder and salt. Add flour and mix. Finally, add chocolate chips and nuts. Pour mixed batter into two floured loaf pans and bake for 1 hour.

If you have bananas that are going bad, but don't have time to make bread, freeze them. You can throw them in your freezer whole or you can peel them and put them in a freezer-safe container. Defrost them in the refrigerator overnight when you are ready to use them - you may have to warm them in the microwave a little or you risk the baking soda and powder not doing their jobs.
