My boss made these for our Christmas party. I'm obsessed with rice crispy treats, but today I may have a new favorite thing. That's saying a lot. Here's where the recipe came from originally.
5 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
1/4 cup light corn syrup
5 cups miniature marshmallows
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup miniature marshmallows, if desired
8 cups Golden Grahams cereal
Butter 9x9 pan. I like to make my treats on the stove. Start by adding butter to a non-stick pan on medium heat. Once the butter is melted, add the corn syrup and chocolate. Once that is melted, add the 5 cups of miniature marshmallows. Stir until smooth. Add vanilla, stir until smooth. Turn off heat and remove pan from stove. Add half the cereal. Mix, then add the second half and the extra cup of marshmallows.
Press mixture evenly in pan, using buttered back of spoon. Let stand uncovered at least 1 hour, or refrigerate if you prefer a firmer bar. Store loosely covered at room temperature up to 2 days.
